Laura Kahwati

Laura is the Education Manager for Thought Leadership at Cambridge International Education. Prior to starting her current role in January 2023, Laura worked as a secondary school English teacher for 16 years in Outstanding UK-based state schools. She has also been a teacher of Drama and Theatre Studies and later, Head of Media Studies. Laura has a Master of Teaching from UCL and a Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching Creative Writing from the University of Cambridge.

 

 

 

 

Dr Simon Ellis

Dr Simon Ellis

Dr Simon Ellis works as a freelance educational consultant providing training and consultancy support to schools and other settings on behaviour for learning.

Prior to this he was a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Education at Canterbury Christ Church University where he taught on the Master’s in Education programme and the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination course.

He also contributed regularly to a range of the university’s teacher education programmes and his doctoral thesis focused on the development of beginning teachers’ thinking and practice in relation to pupil behaviour.

Simon has co-authored three books on Behaviour for Learning in 2009, 2015 and 2018. He has previously worked as a Key Stage 3 National Strategy Behaviour and Attendance Consultant and a Local Authority Behaviour Support Service specialist teacher and manager. He originally trained and taught as a primary teacher and has experience of working as a Special Educational Needs coordinator.
