Latin Lesson Plan – Memorialization, Justice, and Diversity

In this Latin lesson plan, Abbi Holt explores how communities and individuals used practices of memorialization to push back on oppression in the Roman world and in our society. By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Gather basic information from Roman tombstones with vocabulary support
  • Identify larger social messages on tombstones and discuss the diverse perspectives in which they might be grounded
